Our History
Inter-Orient Services, a licensed U.S. Customs broker, and its subsidiaries Inter-Orient Corporation and Noble Shipping, have a global air, ocean, and land network that will ensure our clients full door-to-door service for their shipments.
In 1981, Inter-Orient Services opened its doors with the concept of providing clients with a full service import solutions to alleviate Customs clearance problems. Our company’s founding slogan of Service, Quality, Integrity, Convenience, and Value is one that each and every one of our staff lives by each working day. This gives our clients more time to invest in the more profitable aspects of their business. To further our founding concept, Inter-Orient Corporation, an international freight forwarder, was opened in 1984.
Today, the lnter-Orient group of companies has grown to include Inter-Orient Services, Inter-Orient Corporation, and Noble Shipping Corporation (NVOCC). We strive to continuously improve our services and our logistics network in order to give you, our valued customer, the most value at the best possible price.
Each addition to our product services and each expansion into new regions of the world, whether it be Central or South America, Southeast Asia or China, has one objective in mind: to better serve you and your international business needs. Our staff is fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Taiwanese, Korean, and Spanish to better assist you.
Our Expertise
With over 35 years of international trade experience, we have the know how and expertise to help you with your import and export needs. We have extensive experience in helping importers clear customs for the following import goods: food products, garments, and tires. We also work with importers who have complicated cases, such as automobiles, bulldozers, and live animals. After 35 years in the business, we have seen it all (or most of it at least). We are also very proud for our reputation as the local, Los Angeles based broker who will “do everything.” Even for difficult or complex cases, we are always open to help our clients to the best of our ability. Judy Awana, CEO
Yvonne Tan, Import Manager
With over 40 years of experience in the trade industry in both Asia and the U.S., Judy is an international trade expert with a diverse, wealth of knowledge. In 1981, she founded Inter-Orient Services with husband and Co-founder Dennis Awana with the mission of providing full-service import and US Customs clearance support to importers. For over 35 years, she has been assisting clients with their US customs clearance needs. She loves her job and genuinely enjoys helping importers and exporters with their trade needs. She is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.
As a customs broker license holder with over 20 years of trade experience at both Inter-Orient and other customs brokers, Yvonne has a vast body of knowledge and expertise. She currently oversees all the import operations at Inter-Orient Services. She is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.
Ariana Garcia, Air Import Specialist
With over 20 years of import experience at Inter-Orient, Ariana has learned the ins and outs of customs clearance. She currently specializes in air import shipments and can help with any shipment - even specialized cases! Ariana is fluent in English and Spanish.
Hanna Tiet, Export Specialist
With over 20 years of export experience at Inter-Orient Corporation, Hanna specializes in handling export shipments. Hanna is fluent in English, Cantonese, Mandarin and Vietnamese.
Ginger Awana, Logistics Specialist
With over 10 years of import experience at Inter-Orient and Noble Shipping, Ginger specializes in making shipping arrangements for air & ocean shipments and providing logistics support for each and every client.
