Hearings on Proposed 301 Tariffs of Remaining Goods from China

On June 14, 2019, the United States Trade Representative (USTR) released its schedule of public hearings regarding additional proposed Section 301 tariffs, which will affect approximately $300 billion worth of goods from China. The proposed tariffs will affect a wide range of consumer and other goods, including apparel and footwear, agricultural and food products, household goods, jewelry, electronics, firearms, books and artwork.

The public hearings will start on June 17, 2019 and will extend through July 25, 2019 with witnesses representing a wide array of companies, industries, trade associations, and other interested parties. Post-hearing rebuttals will be due on July 2, 2019, after which USTR will consider all input and will likely make a final decision soon thereafter.
