On September 4, 2018 Congress approved the Miscellaneous Tariff Bill (MTB), which would suspend or reduce through December 31, 2020, import duties on approximately 1700 products generally not made in the U.S. A majority of products covered by the MTB are chemicals, but also include textiles, apparel, footwear, machinery and equipment, and agricultural and fishery products. The President signed the bill into law on September 13, 2018.
